MERSEYSIDE POLICE have charged a man with section 18 wounding after a man was stabbed in Southport on Friday, 19 April.
At around 7.40pm, emergency services were called to Birch Street near to the junction with Upper Aughton Road to reports of a man in his 30’s having been stabbed to the chest. He was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Following enquiries, 18-year-old Shaun Pilkington of Eastbourne Road, Birkdale was arrested a short time later.
He has been charged with section 18 wounding, cannabis cultivation and possession of an offensive weapon and will appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court today, Monday, 22 April.
