The discovery of an unidentified object in a shed sparked a bomb scare in a quiet part of Southport earlier today.
The object, which police now say has been found to be linked to agriculture work, was first feared to be an unexploded bomb inside a shed on Bakers Lane in Marshside.
The road was quickly closed off and people were told to stay away.
A police spokesperson said “Emergency services were called to Bakers Lane in Southport following a report of an unexploded device located inside a shed.
“The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) assessed the item which was a piece of farming machinery.
“The item will be removed and the scene has now been stood down.”
