Residents and visitors alike have expressed anxieties over safety on Southport Pier.
Many of the desking planks have loose or missing screws. Some of the screws are also now a trip danger as they are sticking out.
Moreover, some of the wooden planks have holes and missing wood.
Previously, Southport Pier was closed in 2018 for improvement works.
