The Ocean Plaza Brewers Fayre pub and restaurant is to close down in September.
Plans were initially announced in April of this year to close down hundreds of Beefeater and Brewers Fayre pubs across the UK in a drastic money saving exercise.
This morning parent company Whitbread revealed September 10th will be the final day the venues open, with Ocean Plaza’s Premier Inn based pub one of the casualties.
The closure is believed to form part of owner Whitbread’s business overhaul. Whitbread is pressing ahead with a five-year expansion strategy that has seen it move away from the company’s branded dining establishments.
Around 3,800 jobs are to be cut across the chain. Nearby popular pub the Morris Dancer will also close.
