Boozed up yobs rip down tree on Manor Road, Southport

Boozed up yobs have descended on Manor Road, Churchtown and destroyed 20 year old trees that have long since lined the quiet residential street.

The unknown arboreal attackers were heard in the early hours running up and down the road ripping up the trees and trying to destroy branches for kicks.

They succeeded and managed to totally rip out a tree thought to be around 15 to 20 years old.

A local resident who did not want to be named said: “this is a disgrace. We heard them in the early hours but didn’t know what they were doing.

“Then when we got up this morning we found they’d ripped out the tree near our driveway”
