Angry Southport shoppers hit back at another town centre business meltdown.

Angry shoppers have hit out at Sefton Council after finding out Thornton’s is to close on Chapel Street.

Sefton’s high rates have forced the chocolatier to shut down production and residents are furious.
One told OTS News:

“I’ve been living in Southport for five years and have seen the once thriving town decline more and more each year.

“I have also listened to what the traders along this street, and in the pedestrian precinct, are saying and it all boils down to one thing – greedy landlords.

“So who had the power to do something about this? If the politicians or council are unable to help maybe the people of Southport should bombard them with questions about why this town is being allowed to quietly die.”

“Come on Southport, let’s start a storm!”
