Sweet toothed shoppers have been left devastated by reports that Thornton’s chocolatiers are closing down.

The Chapel Street store is a staple icon of the street and is often busiest during the winter and build up to Christmas.

However chocolate lovers have been told by staff today that the store will shortly be closing and anyone with vouchers and gift cards should spend them as soon as possible.
