Woodlands – No new kitties on the block!

    By Community Contributor15th May 2023

You may have heard how busy Woodlands Animal Sanctuary is with kittens currently; what you may not have heard it that they also have a full shelter of adult cats who are also desperate for their second chance of a happy ever after.  Not only are these cats all missing out on their own forever loving home the longer the stay with the animal charity, but it also means that the team are unable to take in any more cats because they simply do not have any space.  Just this week they were unable to help 18 cats & kittens from one household who were desperate for a new start, as well as all those who are still on their waiting list.

The team from Woodlands are appealing to everybody who may be just thinking about rehoming a cat, to take action!  And rehome an adult cat, so the cats who are still waiting desperately for rescue can be helped.

From pairs to singles, youngsters to older cats, quirky characters to cuddly ones, Woodlands have cats who will suit all sorts of different home styles.  Visit Woodlands website to see photos and information about all of the cats they have available.  You will also notice whilst browsing these photos, that the majority are black or black and white cats.  Every rescue knows that it is unfortunately more than twice as hard to rehome black, or black and white cats than any other colour.  Please do not let superstitions or simply colour, be a barrier for happiness.  These cats don’t know what colour they are, only that they want their chance of a loving forever home.  To see them consistently overlooked is heartbreaking for the staff and volunteers at Woodlands.
