Woodlands Animal Sanctuary launch ‘Tea & Tours’ initiative

By On The Spot News8th August 2020

Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are very pleased to announce a new initiative they have launched; Tea & Tours.

For only £10 per adult & £6 per child (under 12) you can get an exclusive behind the scenes look at the animal charity, see for yourself the level of care that they give all the animals they have on site and even get the opportunity to get hands on with some of them!

The two-hour session will give you an opportunity to learn about the animals the sanctuary rescue and rehabilitate as well as being able to have a look at their brand new facilities.

If that wasn’t enough, after you have spent time with the animals you will be served with drinks and cake under a marquee overlooking their picturesque duck pond. All this takes place on their site in Holmeswood which is nestled in the beautiful Lancashire countryside.

This is a brand new venture for the charity and one of the ways they are trying to support themselves during these testing times.

They would very much still like to be able to welcome their supporters to their site, especially as they have just moved into their brand new facilities, and to keep everyone as included as possible with their work, even though events such as their open days have had to be cancelled for the time being.

Maintaining enough income to support the work they do (weekly running costs are in the region of £3000) is no mean feat and the team feel very strongly about including their supporters as much as possible even during these turbulent times.

Tours are beginning from Tuesday 11th August on a trial basis and the charity then intend to run them each day from 2pm-4pm. There will be a maximum of 10 people per tour and you will need to bring, and wear your own face mask. If further PPE is required in certain areas Woodlands will provide this for you.

Social distancing will of course be adhered to at all times and seating for refreshments will be by household. Children are more than welcome, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

If you think this sounds like something you would like to do, then you can book by phoning the charity on 01704 823293. Booking is by phone only, and must be done in advance. Places are limited and will be on a first come first served basis.
