Who will win the Champions League 2022/2023? Prediction for the winner of the tournament

    By Gerard Benson11th April 2023

In September, the group stage of the 22/23 Champions League started. 32 strongest clubs in Europe next summer will determine the new winner of the most prestigious club tournament in the Old World. Let’s evaluate the chances of the teams and try to predict the winner of the tournament.

Who is in the circle of the main favorites?

According to analysts from Dailysports, Manchester City have the highest chances of winning the tournament. In recent years, the team has been getting closer and closer to winning the tournament, but every time something is missing. In the 22/23 season, Man City was extremely strong and dangerous – the team retained the entire backbone, plus it strengthened one of the strongest forwards of our time, Erling Haaland. You can bet on the victory of Manchester in the tournament for 3.3. We believe that the Citizens will easily win the group stage and can advance to the playoffs as far as possible, up to the final. The chances of winning the “eared trophy” are also very high – once the losing streak of Manchester City in the Champions League must end.

The French PSG have a second chance of winning the tournament – 5.6. The Parisians will confidently win the group and should reach at least the 1/2 finals. The probability of winning the Champions League is also extremely high – the team has one of the best line-ups in the world.

High bookmakers quote Bayern. On the success of Munich they gave 6.9. Bayern are playing without Lewandowski this season, however, they are not experiencing any particular problems yet: they were able to adequately replace the departed top forward Sadio Mane.

Analysts consider Liverpool to be the fourth favorite in the Champions League – 8.5 to win the Champions League. However, the Merseysideiders are not shining at all yet – they started poorly in the English Championship, and at the start of the Champions League group stage, Napoli were beaten 1:4. The team is obliged to leave the group, but problems may arise further.

Only 10.0 bookmakers give that Real Madrid will become the champion of the main European Cup. The team, by the way, is the current winner of the tournament. The Creamy are in great form, having had a great start in La Liga and the Champions League. We believe that the team can count on a second Champions League title in a row.

    Who can surprise?

Barcelona and Chelsea are among the shadow favorites of the tournament. Barca failed last season, but after the arrival of Xavi, things went uphill, and the strongest forward, Robert Lewandowski, also moved to the ranks of the blue garnet. Bookmakers give 12.5 that the Catalans will win the tournament. Our prediction is that Barça will advance from the group, but will stumble at the 1/8 or 1/4 stage.

As for Chelsea, bookmakers almost do not believe in one of the strongest teams in England, setting odds of 26 on it. The club had a weak start in the Premier League, and at the start of the Champions League managed to lose to the modest Zagreb Dynamo 0:1. After such failures, the team’s head coach Tuchel was fired. With a new coach, Chelsea will be able to take a swing at a lot if the situation is successful – the team has a very powerful line-up, the attack with Aubameyang, Sterling, Havertz is especially impressive. We also note that Chelsea won the Champions League quite recently – in the 20/21 season, when it was also far from being the main favorite. So this time the team should make some noise. We predict the exit from the group and the departure from the fight at the stage of 1/8 or 1/4 finals.
