Tory Candidate: Pay disabled people less because some “don’t understand money”.

6th December 2019

A HEARTLESS Conservative candidate has told voters that disabled people and those with learning disabilities should be paid less than the minimum wage because some “don’t understand money”.

Sally-Ann Hart, the Tory candidate for the marginal seat of Hastings and Rye, was greeted with jeers and boos when she made the outrageous comments at election hustings this week.

James Taylor, Head of Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs at disability equality charity, Scope, said: ‘These opinions are outdated, inexcusable, and should be consigned to history. ‘Disabled people should be paid equally for the work that they do.’

However, the Tory candidate later apologised for her remarks.

Many people have not however been THAT surprised at such hard-line Tory remarks after seeing long lines of hungry people at foodbanks, thanks to Tory-orientated Universal Credit scheme flaws.
