A disturbing man dressed as Santa Claus has been approaching family homes in Southport late at night in a bid to scare children and adults alike.
Residents in the Marshside area of Southport say they were left shaken and disturbed after a male in his late thirties began knocking on doors and windows of suburban homes dressed as Santa.
When challenged the male, who has not been identified, said he was looking for children to ‘surprise them.’
It’s understood while appearing sinister, the scary situation was actually a tasteless prank with the male being spurred on by friends as a dare.
Nevertheless a warning has now been circulated among social media groups to alert families to the odd behaviour and to be aware of it potentially happening again.
