St Helens family allegedly attacked by gang of thugs at Pontins

1st September 2020

A family from St Helens have complained to police after claims they were viciously attacked by a gang while on holiday in Southport.

The family of four, including a young child, say they were attacked by a group of thugs at the Pontins Holiday Park because they were classed as ‘wools’ the father of the family said.

Police confirmed that they were contacted over the alleged incident but as yet no investigation has been launched, OTS understands.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We’d been to Southport for the day and were on our way back to our chalets at around 10pm when we were attacked by a group of 10 males.”

“”These people had sneaked on to site causing trouble before this incident, I was told. I ended up with a fractured leg whilst my brother had cuts bruises and a fracture above his nose.

“While all this was happening not one security guard helped. We left the site immediately as did many more families after what they had witnessed.”

The family have also asked Pontins for a refund for their ruined holiday.
