Southport MP’s delight with Flower Show generating £4million for the local economy.

Southport MP Damien Moore enjoyed the opening day of the 2017 Southport Flower Show.

Damien said: “Today I had the pleasure of attending Southport Flower Show 2017 – the largest independent event of its kind in England.

“The event was originally started in 1924 by the local council, but since 1986 has been operated by the Southport Flower Show Charity, who have taken the four-day event from strength to strength.

“I was very pleased to see the extraordinary support for the show, which is set to draw in some 80,000 tourists and generate £4million for the local economy. In particular, I was delighted to see so many small businesses stalls that are all set to benefit from the event’s success.”
