Road closures in place for Southport MAD DOG 10K

At the time of writing (2:40 Saturday 8th) the MAD DOG 10K run is still scheduled to go ahead.

Organisers continue to watch the weather forecasts and warnings ahead of making a final decision early on Sunday morning.

Road closures will be in place for the duration of the race. They will be in place at:

Marine Drive between Esplanade (Rear of Pleasureland) and the Plough Roundabout

The junction of Marine Way Bridge with Marine Drive

Roundabout at Fairway with Marine Drive

Junction of Hesketh Road with Marine Drive

Access to the Vue Cinema side of Ocean Plaza will be open via at the entrance via Marine way Bridge. A height restriction applies at the entrance.

Access to Ocean Plaza via Marine Drive will NOT be allowed while the race is running.

Road closures will be lifted as soon as the last runners have completed their race.

Drivers are advised to use the Promenade as an alternative to Marine Drive.
