On Sunday 28th March, Gavin Phillips passed away in Inverness at the age of 59 after a short illness.
A local lad who graced the green baize playing snooker at the Cropton Club and in the Formby League and pool representing The Coronation, Everton Club, and the Southport A team in the county league in the 1980s before moving to work and live in Inverness where he represented The Chieftain, becoming an international player for Scotland and being crowned 2012 World Pool Champion.
He will be sadly missed by his friends and team mates in Southport who he visited regularly, and our sympathy goes out to his wife Jane and children Stuart, Lynsey, and Brian.
