Rider taken to hospital after Southport Road crash

A moped rider was hospitalised after a crash with a car oSouthport road.

The collision happened on the junction of  Ash Street and Scarisbrick New Road, 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon.

The rider was taken to hospital with a suspected eye injury after colliding with a Renault Clio, but fortunately escaped any serious injury.

The Clio driver was treated for shock at the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told OTSNews.co.uk “We received a call of a two vehicle RTC, involving a moped and a Renault Clio at around 4.30pm at the junction of Ash Street and Scarisbrick New Road.
