Police arrest bloodied punter after argument at Bookmakers

It appears its the tourists showing Southport up while the eyes of the world gaze upon our town.
Earlier this evening Merseyside Police were called to a disturbance on Lord Street following reports of an argument breaking out between an aggrieved golf fan and members of the public near to the monument.

It’s understood the male had bloodied wrists following an argument at a nearby bookmakers and concerned passers by were attempting to help him when he became abusive.

When police arrived they found the man covered in blood, and promptly detained him in a Matrix van.

Shocked shoppers and onlookers could not believe their eyes when they saw the outburst.

The male, believed to be a visiting day tripper to the town for the Open Golf tournament, has been taken to hospital by officers.
