Planned Mersey Tunnel closures and changes

Planned changes and closures to both the Queensway (Birkenhead) and Kingsway (Wallasey) Mersey Tunnels.

The Queensway (Birkenhead) Mersey Tunnel will be partially closed, Birkenhead to Liverpool direction only, during the deconstruction of the Churchill Way Flyovers:

from 1900 on Friday 6 September to 0600 Monday 9 September

The Queensway (Birkenhead) Mersey Tunnel will be closed to all traffic on the following nights whilst we undertake essential maintenance work:

from 2100 on Monday 16 September to 0630 Tuesday 17 September

from 2100 on Tuesday 17 September to 0630 Wednesday 18 September

from 2100 on Wednesday 18 September to 0630 Thursday 19 September

from 2100 on Thursday 19 September to 0630 on Friday 20 September
