Off licence staff subjected to armed robbery

Witnesses are being sought following a suspected armed robbery in Southport tonight.

OTS News understands police were called to the PitStop Off Licence on Southbank Road just after 6.40pm this evening (Thursday 31st December) after shop staff were threatened with a weapon as an unidentified male attempted to rob the store.

It’s currently unknown how much the thief managed to escape the scene with.

Anyone with any information should call Merseyside Police on 101 immediately.
