Nick sleeping under the stars to raise funds for the RBLI

    By Community Contributor19th March 2021

Nick and Sarah McEntee were guests on Cassie James’ Mid-Morning Mighty Radio show today talking about raising funds for the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) with the Great Tommy Sleepout challenge.

“The Great Tommy Sleepout is a RBLI initiative encouraging families and people to sleep out in their back gardens just for one night in order to raise funds for homeless service personnel.

“It’s an exciting thing for us to do as a family, we enjoy being in the great outdoors but at the moment we haven’t been able to do that.

“Homeless veterans who are no longer serving and have fallen on hard times the RBLI seek to get them back into work and back into a stable home environment and these funds that we are trying to raise will go a long way to helping that cause.

“If it wasn’t for groups like the RBLI there would be many more veterans out on the streets living rough.”

It is estimated that there are currently 6000 veterans who are homeless in the UK.

The RBLI are the leading provider of employability services to the disabled and disadvantaged in the Armed Forces community and partner of choice for individuals and organisations in the provision of care, support and employment to those who are disadvantaged by disability, health condition or social welfare need.

You can donate to Nick’s fundraiser HERE. 100% of your donation goes directly to the charity.

Tune in to Mighty Radio 107.9FM, online or via the app, Alexa and other platforms from 10am to midday every day to hear Cassie James’ Mid-Morning Show for more local content, news and tunes.
