Man charged after attempted burglaries of businesses across Southport

Detectives have arrested and charged a Kirkdale man in connection with burglaries targeting businesses across Sefton.

26-year-old Dean Kane of Westminster Road was arrested yesterday (Wednesday 12 June) following the investigation into a series of burglary offences.

Kane has now been charged with five counts of burglary, as follows:

A burglary at Bootle YMCA, Park Street in May.

A burglary at Maghull Community Centre, Green Lane in June.

A burglary at Flames kebab shop in Brows Lane, Formby in June.

An attempted burglary at Big Al’s Diner in Nevill Street, Southport in June.

An attempted burglary at Tiger Bar in Leicester Street, Southport in June.

During the offences, cash and other items were taken.

Kane will appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and Sefton Magistrates Court, Derby Square today, Thursday 13 June.
