When the pandemic hit and all countries began to impose lockdowns and travel bans one by one, many people thought that it would all be over until summer or at least winter holidays. There is nothing that can lift our spirits more than traveling, so we are giving you 6 destinations that you should definitely visit when this is all over.
1. Yellowstone National Park, USA
Yellowstone National Park is a perfect destination for you if you thrive in nature and especially if you love road trips. It is one of the largest national parks in the world and is filled with many lakes, rivers, geysers, and mountain ranges. If you want to explore Yellowstone you will need at least a couple of days, so it is a very popular RV destination. There are large forest and grass areas so it is also perfect for spending time in the fresh air and going for a hike after months of sitting at home. It is famous for its thriving wildlife, so bring your binoculars and watch many animal species directly in their habitat.
2. Florence, Italy
There is no better place to get the full Italian experience than in Florence. It has a rich historical significance, as it is considered to be “the cradle of Renaissance”. It was controlled by the Medici family, the patrons of some of the biggest artists in history, like Michaelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, and more. If you are an art fanatic there is no better place for you than Florence. Many architectural wonders can be seen, including but not limited to the Catedral, the Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio. 3. Santorini, Greece
If you have seen the postcards with the bright colorful city on the sea, with striking white and blue houses, you know what beauty awaits you in Santorini. It would feel like heaven on Earth walking down the many stairs that make up half of the streets on a warm summer day until you get to the refreshing greek sea. The hill on which lies Santorini is actually an active volcano with its crater deep in the sea. It is considered to be a city of romance, with many tourists going to Santorini on a romantic getaway. Additionally, many people decide to host their wedding ceremonies on this island. There is no better place to enjoy traditional Mediterranean cuisine. 4. Marrakech, Morocco
In the last few years Marrakech, the fourth largest city in Morocco, has become one of the most popular tourist destinations. There are two parts of the city, the old and the new one. It has been modernized a great deal, but it is still very conservative. The focal point of the whole city is the town square called Jemaa el-Fnaa. It is filled with street performers, henna artists, street vendors, and, most of the time, many many tourists. It will be especially great to visit after the lockdowns and when it becomes safe and normal to stand in the crowds again. Marrakech is famous for its many markets, in which you can find practically whatever you can think of, from spices and herbs to old furniture. It is a perfect place to experience and explore all of the wonders of middle-eastern culture.
5. Copenhagen, Denmark
Now that we have gone almost a full year without bars, clubs, and restaurants, we forgot how much fun they were. When this situation passes, if you want to relish in that party lifestyle, you should consider planning a trip to Copenhagen. Along with it being the capital, is also a fashion, culinary, and designer center of Denmark. The city is popular for its colorful and playful spirit which is extremely attractive and adjusted to tourists. Its buildings are built in Nordic functionalistic design in many different colors. Danish people are also like that, simple, fashionable, and extremely free-minded. If beer is your drink of choice, you are sure to have a good time in Copenhagen. In the last few years, many breweries have been opened. There are many landmarks to be seen, like Tivoli Gardens and the famous statue of The Little Mermaid.
6. Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo is the capital of Japan, it is heavily populated, modern, and one of the most popular touristic locations in the whole of Asia. It is renowned as one of the world’s most modern cities. After a long period of staying at home and doing practically nothing, Tokyo will seem like heaven on earth because of the many activities it offers. It is the perfect mix of cultural and purely touristic. There are many museums, festivals, sports events, for example, matches of the traditional Japanese sport sumo wrestling.
