William Hanson, one of the UK’s leading etiquette consultants and social commentators, was Cassie James’ guest on her mid-morning Mighty Radio 107.9FM show today.
William has given lessons all over the world in how to be nice and what not to do at every conceivable occasion.
Cassie and William talked about “second screening.” Research by 3 has revealed that 90% of adults have become second screeners during lockdown (an example of second screening would be using a mobile phone or tablet whilst watching a television.)
William discussed TV watching etiquette and delivered some hints and tips on how one should enjoy the television in the company of others.
“If you are watching with other people make sure your phone is on mute. The last thing anyone else wants to hear is pings and beeps from your device.
“Make sure your phone brightness is set low, especially on these dark nights, so you are not pulling everyone’s visual focus from what’s on the television screen.”
