Easter Family Guide – Merseyside

15th April 2019

As ‘fingers crossed’ the weather is turning, the Merseyrail network is coming to life with lots of events and things to do to keep the kids busy over the Easter holidays.

Dinosaurs Unleashed at Liverpool ONE

Dino (2)

A shopping trip to Liverpool ONE disguised as a fun day out for the kids, sounds like a plan to us! Huge dinosaurs have taken over ‘Chavassic’ Park and real life Park Rangers are on hand with fun facts about the prehistoric visitors. Thanks to a clever free app you can chase Raptors, follow Triceratops, look overhead for Pteranodons and, of course, hide from the mighty T-Rex. Simply download ‘Discover at Liverpool ONE’ and keep the youngsters happily looking for dinosaur eggs to hatch as you browse the shops!

Indoor Fair

Fair (1)

All the fun of the fair and no risk of being rained off. The Exhibition Centre Liverpool is being transformed with a massive 2000ft inflatable obstacle course and lots of rides to choose from. As well Waltzers, Fun House and a Ghost Train they’ll even be two mini coasters. Click here for entry fees and timings.

Panto’s aren’t just for Christmas! X Factor’s Sean Smith and Liverpool favourites Lindzi Germain and  Claire Simmo will be bringing the colourful world of Oz to life at The Epstein Theatre Liverpool. Embark on an adventure from Munchkin Land to Emerald City and join Dorothy, Toto and new friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion as they journey to meet the wonderful Wizard of Oz. It’s a real treat for the kids and lots of fun for parents too this Easter. The Epstein in on the doorstep of Liverpool Central station, just 2 minutes’ walk to be exact!

Southport Pleasureland

Southport Pleasureland

Is there anything kids love more than a day at the fair? Reopening for 2019 on 6th April, at Southport Pleasureland there is no entry free so you only pay for the rides you go on. The only argument will be what to go on first, the log flume or the dodgems! Metres from Southport beach and pier and with a choice of restaurants at Ocean Plaza next door, there is everything you need for a full day out all just a short walk from Southport station

Disney on Ice

Disney

The magic of Disney is coming to Liverpool this Easter. All your favourite characters from Frozen’s Elsa to Toy Story’s Buzz and Woody will come to life to the soundtrack of everyone’s childhood. Join Simba, Timon and Pumbaa as they prowl the Pridelands and Mickey and Minnie as they walk down memory lane, all at M & S Bank Arena on Liverpool waterfront and within easy access from James Street and Liverpool Central stations.

If that wasn’t enough, don’t forget about some of our long standing favourite Merseyside destinations for a fun family day out. Take a look at links below for inspiration:
