Developers ready to bulldoze George Drive Woods

Today (Wednesday 21 June) OVH fenced up George Drive woods Ainsdale and started culling wildlife in preparation for new houses.

Mike Lawson who is a member of the Save Our Woods campaign page said: “They are digging up the pavements today as well as cutting down the Wood”.

“I turned into the Drive to be met by work vehicles on all the Pavements and barriers in between”.

“I could just drive into my home as there was a Truck parked in the middle of the road. Vikki got out, just, by going the other way.

“Coming home before my head had to be near revolving to avoid hurting the kids playing in the road.

“I only just got through the Two parked workmen’s Vans. I’ve complained to the contractors but the Lady I spoke sounded bored by the whole thing.

“Now the workmen have left they have left a trailer in the road making less space for residents”.

“At the moment I can get in and out ok but I think tomorrow they will dig up the pavement on my side. This is just a taste of what residents have to come”.

NB. Some months later Kitty’s Wood in George Drive was destroyed for housing and all public protests made were ignored by the council and developers.
