CLOSED | Gourmet Burger Kitchen on Ocean Plaza

Eighteen months after opening the Gourmet Burger Kitchen on Ocean Plaza closed its doors on September 9.

The outdoor furniture removed.

In April 2017 the burger restaurant has been awarded 1 Star food hygiene rating by Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Here is what the Food Standards Agency inspection found when during the inspection on the 8th March 2017

Management of food safety – Major improvement necessary

System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.

Hygienic food handling – Improvement necessary

Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.

A spokesman for GBK said: “Our restaurant in Southport has not performed as well as we expected so we’ve taken the very difficult decision to close it from the 9th September.
