CLEANING THE OVEN WINDOW

4th May 2024

Cleaning the oven window is easier than you think. We show you step by step how you can easily remove and clean your oven window.

When baking, a little cake batter or cheese from a casserole can get stuck in the oven and burn. Or that liquid runs between the panes from above when the oven is open. It seems particularly difficult to clean the oven window. However, there is a simple handle that makes it very easy to clean the oven window and the two panes.

To easily reach all corners and edges and even the inside of the oven window, most ovens allow you to remove the door and then remove the window. The exact procedure may vary slightly from model to model. If in doubt, refer to the operating instructions for your oven. After you cleaned everything you deserve a round at TonyBet to celebrate your success.

UNHINGE THE DOOR

To unhinge the oven door, you need to release the safety catch on the hinge. Before you can start cleaning the oven window, you must unhinge the oven door. Proceed as follows:

  • Open your oven and look for the safety catch at the bottom of the oven door hinges.
  • Push or pull (depending on the model) on both sides of the metal piece to release the safety catch.
  • Always hold the door firmly, support it, or get a second person to help you.
  • Close the oven door halfway and then pull it upwards. It is best to hold it by the sides and not by the handle.

Tip: Also remove the oven door if you want to clean the inside of the oven. This gives you better access to the side walls and corners on the inside.

REMOVING THE WINDOW

Press the button on the side to remove the oven window. Once you have unhinged the door, you can now remove the oven window. This is how it works:

  • Place the oven door on a flat surface.
  • Then press the small buttons on the side of the door to remove the strip at the top.
  • You can then simply lift out the inner pane.

CLEANING THE OVEN WINDOW

Cleaning the oven window also works with household remedies. Now it’s time to clean the oven window. Be careful not to scratch the glass pane. This is not usually a problem with light stains, as a little washing-up liquid and warm water is usually enough.

For more stubborn stains, it is tempting to remove them with a knife or scraper. However, you run the risk of scratching the window, just like with some scouring creams. Try the product of your choice on an inconspicuous area before cleaning the entire windshield with it.

You can also try home remedies. You can find out which ones are suitable here: Cleaning the oven: These home remedies work better than chemicals.

Then polish the glass to make it streak-free.

Re-hanging the oven door

You can simply replace the oven door.

Once you have replaced the glass in the door, you can hang the oven door back on the oven. To do this, hold it at an angle in front of you and guide the metal pins back into the recess of the oven. Then close the safety catch you released earlier and the door is reattached.
