Fernley Observatory Open Day Hesketh Park in Southport (Sun 28 Aug) The Fernley Astronomical Observatory in Hesketh Park, Southport will be open to the public today. The Fernley Observatory, built in 1901, houses a Thomas Cook six-inch refractor telescope which was made in 1869.
