£3,000 worth of Smack found at Southport flats Merseyside Police can confirm that a search was completed today, Thursday 29 September, at an address in Talbot Street, Southport after the premises were closed due to the granting of closure order. During the search officers found a quantity of what they believe to be heroin hidden in a wall. The drugs have been seized and an investigation has commenced to trace those responsible. Appeal after 14-year-old injured in Burscough collision We are appealing for information following a collision which has left a 14-year-old girl with serious injuries. The incident occurred at around 3.45pm yesterday (September 21st) on the A59 Moss Lane, Burscough, between the girl and a blue and white Mercedes Sprinter van. A Southport woman has died after after falling from a scooter in Blackpool on Sunday afternoon (18 September). The woman, aged 55, was a passenger on a Vespa Piaggio PX 125 scooter being driven by a 51-year-old man also from Southport. At around 2:25pm the vehicle was travelling north along Queens Promenade towards Cleveleys and as it passed the Norbreck Castle Hotel, the driver and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. Moped rider dies following collision in Scarisbrick We are appealing for witnesses after a moped rider sadly died following a collision in Scarisbrick. At 9.45pm on Wednesday, September 7 a Piaggio Vespa was travelling along Dam Wood Lane in the direction of Burscough when it mounted the grass verge just prior to Drummersdale Lane and dropped into a large ditch.
