Marble Place thank Southport Cllr David Barton

Many appreciations to Andrew O’ Brien- Assistant Facilities Manager & the team at Marble Place Arcade on Chapel Street for their most kind testimonial regarding my recent work to support them here in Southport Town Centre. After being directly contacted for help and assistance I was pleased to work together with the Arcade Team and the relevant Departments at Sefton Council in order to transfer a largely unpopular bin that had been causing grievance at the entrance to the Arcade to various businesses there.

The bin has since been relocated to the more appropriate location of Nevill Street in order to facilitate local business owners there who had previously been requesting additional Cleansing support over the Summer. This I’m sure will be appreciated by the many tourists be they passing visitors or families that frequent this popular street.

I am particularly glad that together we have been able to achieve this community victory and in so doing help make our hometown a cleaner and more appealing place for all be they local resident, visitor or business owner.

“We approached Cllr David Barton on this issue as he is a leading campaigner for the restoration and rejuvenation of Southport town centre.

“Cllr Barton was both understanding and knowledgeable about the situation and worked quickly and efficiently with us to find a resolution which has greatly improved the entrance to the arcade and made it much more inviting to shoppers.
