5 Ways to Help you Live a Fulfilling Life

    By John Brown23rd November 2022

Take a few seconds to answer this question. When was the last time you got out of bed feeling excited about the day ahead? Yesterday? Last week? A few years ago? Or maybe, you simply can’t remember.

The truth is, most people who answer the question above would have the last option as their answer. Too many people get lost in the humdrum of day-to-day living that their only concern is getting through the day to meet the next.

The danger of not living a fulfilled life is that you’ll wake up one day and realise that time has passed and you have nothing to show for it. But, for you, time isn’t lost yet. You can still live a fulfilling life by following these four steps.

    Declutter Your Mind

Out with the old! Clutter is terrible, whether it’s in your home or your head. It tends to make a place gloomy. Thus, the first thing you need to do is declutter.

    How do you do that?

By consciously changing the way you think and handle the problems you face. Because clutter comes from worries, thoughts, and mental baggage, you can declutter your mind by choosing to think differently and relearning unhelpful thinking patterns.

    Add Purpose

Now that you’ve done a spot of spring cleaning in your mind, the next step is to add new, positive thoughts and ideas. Giving a purpose to your mind is one of the positive things you can do for it.

Your purpose could be anything from discovering how to improve all aspects of your body with The 4 Hour Body book to learning a new skill or language. Your new purpose will breathe back the excitement and drive into your life by giving your mind and body something to think about and work towards.

And when you fulfil your purpose or goal, victory boosts you to take bolder steps in your life.

    Make a Bucket List

Before you scoff, bucket lists never go out of style for a good reason. If you’re stuck in a rut of drudgery, a good bucket list will cheer you up in no time. In your bucket list, write out things you’d love to do. Don’t be worried; your bucket list can be as long or as short as you want. And the best part? You can always add new things to the bottom of the list.

When you’re done with your bucket list, map out a plan to strike them off. If possible, plan to cross an experience off your list each week. It’ll give you something to get excited about and look forward to.

If you want to make this even more fun, ask your friends to participate. You can even cross things off each other’s lists together!

    Be Intentional about your Time

Life happens. And on some weeks and days, you’ll find it hard to bring out time for yourself, talk less about your purpose and make a bucket list of interesting experiences. However, just like every important thing in life, living a fulfilled life takes work, conscious decisions, and intentional management of your time.

But you can start by following through with your plans. Remember, it’s very easy to let the daily struggle take over your existence, but a life without fulfilment is one you’ll come to regret.
