Southport mum smashes Marathon all for Queenscourt

Southport mum,  Laura Rose has raised £1,805.00 to date by completing this years London Marathon in just over 4 hours.

Laura Rose is also a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist based in Southport, she said: “Queenscourt Hospice is a local charity that provides support for the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancs. It cares for people with serious illness in the in-patient unit, out patients and at home, enabling those with serious illness to achieve the best quality of life”.

“The hospice receives less than a third of it’s funding through the NHS, the rest is relied on through charitable donations. It costs around 2 million a year to run the Hospice and provide this vital service. I see every day through my work as a Palliative Care Specialist Nurse the good work the Hospice does. I am really keen to raise a decent amount for them to help them continue their good work.

“Running the Marathon wasn’t easy for me. The training took dedication and fitting it in around my job and family took some planning and determination. But I did it and I’m delighted”

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can still sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the Hospice. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
