Cigarettes stolen in delivery wagon robbery


DETECTIVES have issued an appeal after a robbery from a delivery wagon in Southport on Wednesday (20 May 2015).

 At around 10.40am, a driver has been making a delivery at a store on Church Road.

 Whilst unloading the vehicle, the driver has been approached by two men in dark clothing and threatened. The pair have then stolen around £1600 of cigarettes and made off in a waiting dark coloured Ford Focus, travelling down Church Road in the direction of Southport.

 DS 64 Diane Higham from Skelmersdale CID said: “The attack understandably left the driver shaken up.

 “I am asking anyone who saw a dark coloured Ford Focus vehicle in the area at the time or to get in contact with us.”
