A new art installation under southport pier is causing quite the stir.

The piece, which consists of mounds of rubbish and litter dumped underneath the public walkway, has split the opinion of residents – with some saying it’s just a massive pile of garbage.

Others suggest it is a contemporary look at a growing refuse crisis.

OTS understands that this ‘installation’ which includes empty coke cans, crisp packets, hypodermic needles and fast food wrappers – was created over a period of weeks by talented artists simply throwing it anywhere they like on the ground.
