30th October 2018

Amy Chambers (24), currently a Senior Carer at Birkdale Pak Nursing Home has won the Skills for Health Clinical Support Worker of the Year (North West). Jonathan Cunningham Registered Care Manager of Birkdale Park Nursing Home said this is an outstanding achievement for Amy and demonstrates the important role that she fulfills. She is one of the most hard working and dedicated staff member and a fabulous ambassador for Birkdale Park.  We just had to put her forward for this award and delighted she has won the title with some tough competition across the NW. It is even more significant as Amy is the only award winner from a social care organisation all other winner come from the acute setting or large NHS Trusts. So for Amy to win this award shows the increased importance of care homes and social care.

Amy said, ‘I’m touched by this award but we all work together a one big team at Birkdale Park. It is very much a family and a just love my lovely residents. Im looking forward to the 23rd Nov to meet with the other regional winners.’
