Woman’s near ‘death by tree’ claim

A Southport woman says she was left shaken and her dog badly injured as she narrowly avoided ‘death by tree’.

Storm Hector has ripped through a small birch tree on Hesketh Road and the woman, who says she was inches away from being killed, is lucky to escape uninjured.

Her pet dog however was not so lucky and received deep cuts after being hit by the branch.
She said:

“It’s a miracle nobody was killed when it came down and we’ve complained about it before being a dangerous tree. It’s just lucky nobody died.”
