A woman has been charged by police following an attempted robbery in Formby.
At around 6.50pm on Tuesday 5 August it was reported that a woman asked another one for a cigarette on Church Road, became abusive and making threats, then tried to steal the handbag.
Officers attended and following a search of the area arrested a woman.
Stacey Marie Vasey, 38 years, of Smithy Green in Formby, has been charged with attempted robbery.
She has been remanded into custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday 4 September.
