Top American golfer spotted enjoying Southport’s best micropub

A top American golfer competing at the Open in Royal Birkdale didn’t have far to go after finishing his latest round.

Wyndham Clark, currently sat at 8th in the PGA Tour world rankings, was spotted enjoying a drink at one of Southport’s most award-winning micropub this week, the Grasshopper in Hillside.

The Sandon Road venue is one of a number of Hillside businesses that have been enjoying packed out crowds from across the world this week with the Open on its doorstep.

As well as proving popular with golf fans, the Grasshopper is enticing some of the top names in golf for cool refreshment in the heat.

“We even had a few famous faces join us for a drink, and our very own barman Ben had his day made when he spotted Wyndham Clark enjoying a drink outside with the lads.
