West Lancashire Cemetery & Crematorium to host Mother’s Day Remembrance Service

By On The Spot News9th March 2023

West Lancashire Cemetery & Crematorium will be remembering mothers next month as local families are invited to pay tribute to their maternal loved ones.

On Friday 17 March the site is hosting a Mother’s Day Remembrance Service at 3.30pm which local people are welcome to attend.

Visitors will be able to listen to reflective music and also write a personal message to those they have lost on a commemorative pebble, which can be left alongside the memorial tree at the crematorium or taken home.

The Mother’s Day event runs until 5.30pm.

West Lancashire Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

Laura Linnane, Site Manager at West Lancashire Cemetery & Crematorium, said: “Mother’s Day can be a particularly poignant time for those who have lost their mum or mother-figure, or for mothers who have been bereaved of a child.

“We are inviting local families to visit us during this period to have a moment of reflection and contemplation within our chapel and beautiful grounds.

“We hope that visiting us will bring comfort to anyone who needs it during this special time of the year.”
