In 2009, he got media attention from around the world when he held a live séance for the late singer Michael Jackson.

In recent years, Derek has been touring across the country with his psychic show, Whispers from Heaven, where he tries to connect people with their loved ones in the spirit world.

Speaking about going into the Big Brother house, Derek said: “I am looking forward to seeing how I can adapt to living 24/7 with people I have never met before, and finding out about each one through general conversation.”
