Wallis abandons Southport

Another well-know high street giant has decided Southport is no longer viable and closed it’s doors for the final time.

February was another bad month for Southport town centre. High street giants ‘Accessorize’ & ‘The Body Shop’ closed down.

Despite more bad news for the Lord Street Andrew Sloman(BID manager) said: “For the first time in several years there has been a net gain in new businesses opening and an annual increase of 3% in footfall; the national footfall rate continues to fall and the North of England average is in steep decline at -2.5%”.
