Commuters are being told to avoid a tyre killing stretch of road in Ormskirk.

The stretch of road on the A59 has destroyed a number of car tyres in the last few days with West Lancashire council ignoring pleas to fix it.

In one evening five cars suffered a blowout one after the other.

The bursts are being caused by debris from a broken road surface.

One driver said:

“I have reported this to the police but they never arrived and also now to the council.

“As from late tonight still nothing has been done. I have reported this on Facebook with a lot of people having the same issues.”
