Two fire engines from Tarleton and South Shore along with our hazardous materials unit were in attendance at a large skip fire on George’s Lane in Banks, Southport.
The contents include paint and there’s a dyke alongside so we are working with the Environment Agency to mitigate water pollution.
This includes using inflatable booms and building a dam using soil and earth to contain water run-off. The fire has been extinguished and firefighters are damping down.
