Traffic chaos after head on smash at busy Southport junction.

The emergency services were called to Waterloo road shortly after 3.30pm today following a report of an RTC, Sunday 17 June.

A Citreon and BMW crashed head on at the junction with Grovsenor road.

Witnesses at the scene told our reporter that occupants of both cars escaped without sustaining major injuries.

Police are currently diverting traffic around the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
