Traffic chaos has hit Southport town centre.
Furious motorists say the traffic lights at the junction of Lord Street London Street and Neville Street have been stuck on red causing massive delays and tailbacks.
Some drivers are risking going through on a red light because they have been waiting so long.
The tailback on Neville Street is now snaked back to the promenade and the situation is only going to get worse say angry drivers.
People are asked to avoid the area.
