Southport have signed midfielder Steven Hewitt from Premier League side Burnley and goalkeeper Tony Thompson from Championship club Rotherham on loan.
Thompson, 20, has signed until the end of the season, while 21-year-old Hewitt has joined on a one-month deal.
Hewitt had a loan spell with Conference rivals Alfreton in 2013, scoring one goal in 15 appearances for the club.
Thompson is the second goalkeeper to join the Sandgrounders in recent weeks, following the arrival of Seb Usai.
Southport have won their last two Conference games but are still just six points away from the relegation places with seven games remaining.
