Southport’s stunning King’s Gardens hosted a free evening of music with a special Proms in the Park.

Venetian Nights themed was performed by the Maghull Wind Orchestra who played popular film theme tunes in the Community Garden.

Community Garden event started at 7.30pm and a number of music fans turned up in Venetian Nights theme dress.

Cllr Ian Moncur, Cabinet Member Health and Wellbeing, said:

“The Proms In the Park promises to be an exciting evening of classical music in the perfect surroundings of King’s Gardens.

“Historically in the gardens, Venetian Nights were held where local residents dressed up, played music and sailed around the lake in gondolas and now we want to bring some of this energy and enjoyment back.”
