    Three released and one charged after Mere Brow shooting

    Three released and one charged after Mere Brow shooting

    Three of the four people arrested yesterday, after a man was shot in Mere Brow, have today been released on bail.

    However James Gelling, has been charged with criminal damage.

    James, 26 of Lord Street, Southport, was remanded to appear at court today (Tuesday 13th September)

    The three men aged 26, 27 and 29, all from Southport, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been bailed pending further enquiries to Wednesday October 12.

    A 41-year-old woman from Southport, detained on suspicion of possession of a firearm, was released without charge.

    A man aged 42 was shot at shortly before 9pm on Wednesday (September 7) outside an address on Mere Brow Lane.

    He sustained injuries to his upper leg area and remains in Southport Hospital receiving treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
