Thousands of people packed out Southport town centre this evening for the annual Southport BID Christmas switch on.
Lord Street was teeming with families who came out for the likes of BeWitched and East 17 who turned on the thousands of fairy lights and displays up and down the town.
Organised by the Southport BID and Uk Media events, at least two thousand people were thought to have come into town for the spectacle.
One Mum said “this has been the best display in a long time. We used to come here years ago and it was a bit rubbish but now they’ve really made it a spectacular display. Well done to all involved. We’ll be back next year.”
